About This Place

Located in the heart of East Greenwich, Ed's Roost is a charming breakfast and lunch spot that has quickly become a beloved local favorite. Specializing in hearty, comforting American classics with a focus on fresh, satisfying flavors, this intimate eatery offers a welcoming, rustic farm-style atmosphere that invites guests to relax and enjoy a well-crafted meal.

The menu at Ed's Roost brilliantly highlights time-tested favorites like the acclaimed Corned Beef Benedict served with perfectly crisp home fries—a dish several patrons rave about for its authentic, non-canned corned beef hash that delivers a uniquely shredded texture, rich in savory depth. If you’re craving something lighter yet indulgent, the creamy Avocado Toast and the warm, flaky Mediterranean Sandwich are excellent go-to options.

Breakfast enthusiasts will find plenty to love, from the comforting Hash & Eggs and the flavorful Spinach Pepperoni and Cheese Omelet to crowd-pleasers like Coffee Eggs Bacon English and the satisfying Two Eggs Any Style with Bacon. Pair your meal with a steaming cup of coffee or treat yourself to Ed’s Roost’s rich Hot Chocolate topped with whipped cream—a blissful indulgence especially on cooler mornings.

The dining experience here is just as memorable as the food. Despite its compact size, Ed’s Roost offers a cozy and inviting vibe with quick, attentive service that guests frequently praise. As Nicole B Garcia shares, the staff strikes the perfect balance of attentiveness, ensuring your coffee or tea glass is never empty, even during busy hours. Customers like Kyle Phillips appreciate the no-frills honesty of the place—“what you see is what you get”—combined with satisfying, home-cooked quality meals. Meanwhile, Steve Thompson highlights the option to dine al fresco by the street, perfect for people-watching on a sunny day.

Beyond the delicious food and hospitable service, Ed's Roost demonstrates a conscientious approach to health and safety; as Nancy Rivera notes, the spotless environment and proactive staff wearing masks and gloves provide a comforting sense of care and professionalism.

Whether you’re stopping by for an early morning meal after a long shift, as Nate Collins does, or seeking a dependable breakfast spot with generous portions and honest flavors, Ed’s Roost offers a warm, memorable experience. It’s a place where every bite speaks of homemade quality and every visit feels like coming home.

The waitress here is amazing and perfectly attentive (notices your tea/coffee levels even when it’s busy and is just a generally sweet woman) I get the corned beef hash Benedict every time. Their corned beef hash is definitely not canned. Different but great.

What you see is what you get here . It's a very small spot, small menu , and small staff . But they have the essentials . They have hot food , hot coffee , and a seat for you when you walk in. The food was good , I had the hash and eggs ( which is what I was told to go there for ) . I wouldn't call it hash , it was like shredded corn beef , but still very delicious on top of some home fries . So it may look deceiving when you walk in but you won't leave disappointed.

Good local breakfast. Fast service and excellent corned beef hash and eggs! Can sit outside by street and people watch if a table is available. Inside seating as well. Located on Main Street so parking can be a challenge. Big potions at a fair price!

Stop by here after my night rotation. Only place around open at 6am and has the best hash and eggs. Highly recommend.

Just went back here after a long time. Their breakfast was great! My normal spot is skimping on portion size. This place does not. Lots of food. Great quality and cooked to perfection. The corned beef hash is great and the standard breakfast was spot on.
